zorsay means louder born on the dancefloor

About Zorsay.

Zorsay is joywear inspired by South Asian craft and dancefloors around the world. Zorsay means “say it louder” in Urdu and Hindi, and that is the whole idea: clothes that turn the volume up.

The insight behind the brand is simple: right fabric, wrong format. Mirrorwork, jamawar, embroidered silk, ajrak. These craft textiles have been locked inside traditional and gendered garments for generations, brought out a few times a year and then put away. We recut them into blazers, bombers, vests, and whatever else makes you want to move, so the craft lives on dancefloors, at dinners, and in the street instead of in a closet.

Every piece is handmade in small batches by artisans in Karachi. Many are one of one, because the textiles themselves are one of one. We work directly with our makers, and each garment carries hours of handwork you can see up close and feel.

Zorsay has dressed artists from Indo Warehouse at Coachella to Madame Gandhi at UN Climate Week to Amin Gulgee at the opening of the Gulgee Museum, and has been featured in the New York Times Style Section. We are based in Brooklyn, made in Karachi, and worn wherever people move.
